Tea Masters Cup Australia & New Zealand 2018

Tea Masters Cup Australia & New Zealand 2018

Table of contents

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]On the 11th of September Tea Masters Cup Australia & New ZealandĀ 2018 was held at the Australian International Tea Expo. It is an annual event giving a chance to participants and all tea lovers to learn something new, upgrade their tea knowledge and skills and make new tea friends from all over Australia and the world.

During the competition there were two categories. First one was Tea Brewing, each participant had to prepare two teas: one which they had chosen on their own, and the second sample which was provided by organisers. The task wasnā€™t easy! Besides demonstrating high skills of brewing and knowledge about tea, participants had to show their charisma and fit the whole performance into time limits. However, all of them managed to fulfil this task in their own but always very elegant way.

Therefore, we are glad to congratulate the winner of Tea Masters Cup Australia & New ZealandĀ 2018 in the Tea Brewing category ā€“ MaryJane Hua whose performance was full of life and positive emotions. She made a good pair of teas to brew. The first one was her master tea ā€“ it was oolong from Guangdong province. Then she brewed in a traditional technique of PinCha a very refreshing Chinese sheng puerh provided by Wild Yunnan Tea company. Well done and good luck at the Tea Masters Cup International competition.

In the Tea Pairing Nomination there were represented two more beautiful composition by Lisa WestcottĀ and Bena Andriani whose performances were in totally different styles but both were very neat and balanced.

In Tea Pairing category the participants had to create two composition of tea (or a beverage based on tea) with snack.Ā  First one they could prepare beforehand and the second one was to be done with the tea selection, ingredients and table ware provided by the organisers.

Such a complicated task was brilliantly completed by David Liem who combined iced tea served in beautiful glasses with quail egg boiled in a tea infusion. His second composition was also performed in a very accurate and professional way. Congrats and good luck as well!

We would also like to mention that the performances of other competitors – MaryJane Hua with unusual snack based on fish with radish, Lisa Westcott with her beautiful ā€œgolden setā€Ā and Renu Mantri with unforgettable classic Masala-tea were very interesting and colourful!

Thank you all for participating and see you next year![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][mk_gallery title=”Tea Masters Cup Australia & New Zealand 2018″ images=”5186,5187,5188,5189,5190,5191,5192,5193,5194,5195,5196″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
