Nicole Burriss, is a Kansas City, Missouri native. She grew up with Lipton iced tea and didn’t really think much about tea until her eyes were opened at an afternoon tea party. Taking a deep and obsessive dive into teas of all kinds led her to found the Midwest Tea Festival, the 2019 Chicago International Tea Festival and she partnered with Babette Donaldson to put on the International Virtual Tea Festival in 2020.
In 2019 she traveled to Korea on a tea tour with Australian Tea Masters where she fell head over heels for Korean teas. After several years of calling tea lovers to Kansas City to celebrate tea and tea cultures, she has now passed both festivals on to other organizers and begun her new adventure in tea – being a US based wholesale distributor for Australian Tea Masters’ line of Korean teas. Her tea knowledge comes largely from self study with tea experts though she has a certificate in Tea 101 and Advanced Black Tea Cupping from Australian Tea Masters. She has spoken about Korean teas at World Tea Expo and at the Midwest Tea Festival.
