2016 Ripe Pu-erh Bingdao Petite | 100g
This aged 2016 ripe Pu-erh tea cake hails from Bingdao Village, located in the Shuangjiang District of Lincang Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China. The tea is crafted from tea trees over 20 years old, grown on high-altitude plantations at approximately 1,800 meters above sea level. This elevated terroir imparts a distinct sweet-spicy aroma that sets Bingdao teas apart.
Although the label references “over 100-year-old trees,” this specific Bingdao Petite is made from younger plantation trees, offering a more approachable and mellow character while still retaining the essence of the region.
The tea brews a chestnut-brown infusion and opens with a soft, creamy fruit note, followed by a subtle walnut-like nuttiness and lingering impressions of a moist autumn forest. The mouthfeel is smooth and rounded, with a comforting richness that develops further with age.
This petite 100g cake is ideal for daily drinking or as an introduction to the ripe Pu-erh style of the Bingdao terroir.
