This rare purple tea is from Kenya. Purple tea is now made almost exclusively in Kenya. But it’s startling colour isn’t even the best thing about it: It is naturally occurring anthocyanin which may also be useful for cardiovascular health, blood sugar metabolism, and cholesterol levels, as well as containing natural antioxidants. Anthocyanin is what gives the tea its distinct purple colour like which is found in red wine. Purple tea has a naturally sweet flavour, light vegetal notes with a refreshing finish. Steep for 3 minutes at 90oC to get the best from this tea.

About Black Tea

The world is your oyster. Each black tea from each different country has a completely different taste profile and we have selected some of the world’s best black teas.

Black teas are the most highly oxidised of the teas and make great bases for blends. There are so many different varieties and grades of black teas that you can use teas from many different countries; the opportunities are endless. The most famous black tea blends in the world are English Breakfast and Earl Grey.

Black tea is usually 100% oxidized and therefore results in beautiful notes of honey, malt, chocolate, toast, caramel etc. Each black tea is unique to the terroir and our selection includes our own signature breakfast style blend as well as our own Earl Grey style.
